Originally founded on a deep commitment to craftsmanship, creativity, and community, Migration began its journey building premium handcrafted custom surfboards for the Great Lakes and beyond. But through the confluence of friends connecting after long seasons of migrating, a shared desire to celebrate and build upon our collective experiences on the land and water emerged. Migration Supply Company was born. At our core, we are an outdoor brand. We seek to engage, enjoy, and protect the “Wind, Water, and Wild” in the places we love and call home.

When the wind howls and small craft advisory alerts start coming through, you will most likely find us checking buoy data, rounding up wetsuits, and stacking boards on vehicles anxiously anticipating a trip to the coast. On the Great Lakes, swells build with the surging wind and usually deflate quickly. While swells often underperform, the commitment to chasing waves remains and the experiences from the journey are what we cherish. The distinctiveness of a Great Lakes surfer is built on fortitude and resilience. Proving rideable conditions isn’t the goal.

We strive to embrace the elements with gratitude, but don’t be fooled… our waves are often more fun than they look, and occasionally the conditions align for truly memorable waves!

With the Great Lakes Basin as our backyard, we seek creative immersion in our wildest places.  We exist because we love to gather, celebrate and have fun with our community. Journeys often include brisk hikes among the dunes, paddling quiet lakes and rivers, speeding down single track through the forest, or weekend camping excursions with family and good friends. The same can be said about quiet moments by the river, the first time climbing a sand dune, or the rush of ducking under the cold water in early summer.
